Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee
Mission Statement: The specific purpose of this organization is to provide support and assistance in the maintenance and operation of RIVERSIDE NATIONAL CEMETERY, including, but not necessarily limited to, the establishment and administration of an endowment fund for the benefit of the cemetery, planning and presenting appropriate ceremonies on the national holidays and other activities that benefit the national cemetery.
How RNC Was Established: Riverside National Cemetery (RNC) is the largest and busiest cemetery managed by the National Cemetery Association. It was established in 1976 through the transfer of 740 acres from March Air Force Base. The cemetery was dedicated and opened for burials November 11, 1978. RNC is currently 1253 acres after its most recent acquisition of adjacent land parcels.
The first person interned at RNC was Medal of Honor recipient SSGT Ysmael R. Villegas.
Why Does RNC Need a Support Committee? Government funding is not enough to support RNC. Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee (RNCSC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. RNCSC connects with the community to raise funds for maintenance, beautification, dignified burial services, events, and the many memorials.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10267:
VFW Post 10267's primary purpose is to serve veterans, their spouses, families and orphans. VFW here is also heavily involved in the community, VA Hospital, Riverside National Cemetery, and civic events.
VFW 10267 is host of the county-wide 9-11 ceremony held every September 11 at its facilities. It is done with partners from the city, county, state, CAL Fire, Riverside Sheriff and numerous other public agencies and officials. More than 125 people attend this event yearly.
VFW 10267 is home to the Vietnam Veterans of American, Chapter 47, representing the Inland Empire (SB Co and Riverside Co). VVA 47 did not have a home 10 years ago. VFW 10267 offered a free home into infinity and VVA has been there ever since.
VFW is a partner in the presentation of the Independence Day Celebration at Country Village held every 4th of July....where 2,000 to 3,000 people attend. VFW serves as master of ceremonies, color guard, and decorates golf carts.
VFW is a partner with the local parks and recreation district and for more than 20 years helps stage an event to honor deceased veterans who were community volunteers. Their names are on a marble wall at a local park. Mora than 200 people attend this event on Armed Forces Day annually. VFW is master of ceremonies, presents wreaths and has paid for nominees.
VFW prepares, pays for and hosts an annual spaghetti dinner for the local Rotary Club with all proceeds for the Field of Flags, a national program with a local contribution from Rotary Club. The Field of Flags is in Jurupa Valley annually at Veterans Memorial Park.
There are numerous other events, fund raisers and contributions by VFW here including the Golden Wheelchair games for disabled veterans; a National Home for orphans; toy and food drive for veterans homes, and contributions to schools, churches, libraries and more.

Who We Are: The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces.
We trace our roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service. Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them, and they were left to care for themselves.
In their misery, some of these veterans banded together and formed organizations that would eventually band together and become known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. After chapters were formed in Ohio, Colorado and Pennsylvania, the movement quickly gained momentum. Today, membership stands at more than 1.5 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary.
Our voice was instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration, development of the national cemetery system, in the fight for compensation for Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange and for veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. In 2008, we won a long-fought victory with the passing of a GI Bill for the 21st Century, giving expanded educational benefits to America's active duty service members, and members of the guard and reserves, fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. We were the driving force behind the Veterans Access and Accountability Act of 2014, and continually fight for improved VA medical centers services for women veterans.
Besides helping fund the creation of the Vietnam, Korean War, World War II and Women in Military Service memorials, in 2005 the VFW became the first veterans' organization to contribute to building the new Disabled Veterans for Life Memorial, which opened in November 2010. And in 2015, we became the first supporter of the National Desert Storm War Memorial which is planned for construction at our nation's capital.
About Victoria Club
Victoria Club, a premiere private club, is located in the center of the City of Riverside, in the bustling Inland Empire. It was incorporated on October 16, 1903 making it one of the oldest clubs in Southern California.
Situated in the Tequesquite Arroyo that once was surrounded by orange groves, Victoria Club’s history and charm remain as elegant today as it was in the beginning.
Victoria Club is a full service club featuring a championship eighteen hole golf course, Olympic sized swimming pool, five lighted tennis courts, exercise room, dining rooms, two beverage lounges and a beautiful Victorian style clubhouse.
Victoria Club is a private member-owned non-profit club featuring five types of membership. Regular, Junior Executive, Retired and Honorary memberships have access to all facilities. Social members utilize all the facilities of the club with the exception of the golf course.
