Overview of FVCA’s Purpose and Programs

The master objective of Fox Valley Christian Action is to partner with the local Church in discipling people in under-resourced communities of the Fox River Valley into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.

From the beginning, Fox Valley Christian Action has been committed to provide year-round discipleship programs for young children and teenagers in the under-resourced communities of the Fox River Valley. The school districts serving Elgin, Carpentersville and Aurora identify 30,000 children coming from low-income communities in our area. We want to see youth and families break free from the negative patterns that are often seen in our communities.

Our vision is for every youth in the under-resourced communities of the Fox Valley to become part of a local church where they are growing in a life-transforming relationship with Jesus. During our free overnight summer camp programs, there are unique opportunities for youth to be “immersed” in a Christ-centered environment for a week and to see themselves and Jesus in a new way. During the school year programs, we’ve seen the value of supporting youth weekly in their walk with Christ in the context of their daily lives. Our Teen Night Together (TNT) program for middle school and high school teens provide opportunities for involvement throughout the school year. The combination of the summer and school year programs produces the greatest growth in the lives of our youth.
